Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Part Time Warehouse Operative to join our busy logistics team. This role involves supporting the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, be physically fit, and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure smooth operations. Duties
- Assisting with materials handling, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers
- Using forklifts and other mechanical equipment to move stock safely and efficiently (training provided)
- Managing stock levels through accurate recording in the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Organising stock storage areas, replenishing shelves, and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Supporting shipping and receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt
- Conducting quality control checks to identify damaged or defective items
- Assisting with general warehouse maintenance and safety procedures to uphold a secure environment
Skills
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical equipment operation (e.g., forklift)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and quality control standards
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Physically fit with the stamina to work in a fast-paced environment over extended periods
