Join our dynamic team as a Swimming Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire confidence and foster a love for swimming among participants of all ages and skill levels. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a safe, engaging, and motivating aquatic environment. As a vital member of our aquatic program, you will support swim instructors and coaches in delivering high-quality lessons, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and creating a positive experience for every swimmer. Our working hours are currently 5 hours every Saturday afternoon during term time only
Responsibilities
- Assist swim instructors in delivering engaging swimming lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Monitor pool areas continuously to ensure safety standards are upheld at all times
- Support swimmers during practice sessions by providing encouragement and guidance
- Enforce pool rules and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or injuries
- Prepare swimming equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the pool environment before and after lessons
- Help with organizing swimming activities, events, or competitions as needed
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents in the water, following established safety procedures
Qualifications
- Prior sports coaching experience or background in teaching physical activities is highly desirable but we are open to training our staff from beginner level.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and encourage swimmers of all ages
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for promoting health, fitness, and aquatic skills
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods during shifts
