We are a busy, growing contract bottling operation in Cumbernauld — and we need an experienced Vatting & Canning Operator who can hit the ground running in our vatting hall. If you’re comfortable with tanks, liquid prep, and juggling a varied production schedule, we want to hear from you.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Vatting and liquid preparation are the heart of this role. You’ll be managing tanks, running reductions, nailing liquid calculations, and keeping a busy vatting workload on schedule day to day. When needed, you’ll also lend a hand on the canning line — so you’ll build a genuinely broad skill set across the full production operation. No two shifts are the same, and you’ll be trusted to use your judgement to plan and prioritise your own workload as part of a close-knit team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
→ Tank management and liquid preparation — your main day-to-day focus
→ Liquid calculations and reductions, recorded accurately to spec
→ Planning and juggling the vatting workload to hit production targets
→ Blending and vatting operations, including lab work and associated paperwork
→ Quality and ABV checks to ensure every product meet specification
→ Canning line support: filling, pasteuriser, labelling, seam/X-ray checking
→ Routine maintenance and basic machinery troubleshooting
→ Keeping production areas clean, hygienic, and H&S compliant
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
→ Experience working with tanks, liquid prep, and reductions
→ Confident performing and recording liquid calculations
→ Able to plan and juggle a production workload independently
→ Some vatting and blending experience — essential
→ Comfortable with machinery and detailed processes
→ Good communicator with practical problem-solving skills
→ Vatting/blending background in distilling, brewing, or similar — highly desirable
→ A team player who adapts well to a changing environment
→ Fluent English, spoken and written
→ COSHH, H&S, or HACCP awareness (desirable)
→ Knowledge of process operations or alcohol reduction (desirable)
