Job Summary
Here at The Parson Woodforde we are looking to expand our kitchen team, we are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a fun team, in a busy and vibrant kitchen. The Sous Chef will be responsible for maintaining a smooth kitchen workflow, managing food production, and supporting team management to uphold our reputation for great food.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee food production processes, including cooking, plating, and portion control.
- Manage daily kitchen activities, including inventory control and ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with health and safety policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant, gastro pub or hotel environment.
- Demonstrable supervising experience with the ability to lead a team and bring the best out of your team.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety procedures.
- Knowledge of health regulations related to hospitality establishments is essential.
This is a full time role, which is ideal for someone eager to develop their leadership skills within a vibrant kitchen environment. Pay is negotiable between £32,000 & £35,000 depending on experience, and a great share of tips on top of this.
