Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in various welding techniques, including stick welding and sheet metal fabrication. This role involves tacking and welding wood-burning stoves, as well as assembling and fabricating components according to specifications using both hand and power tools. A commitment to safety and quality is essential in this position.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal parts securely.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that arise during fabrication.
Requirements
- Proficiency in welding techniques, particularly stick welding.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
