Mental Health Support Worker
Farnborough - £13.95 per hour - Residential Care Home
Day or Night Shifts Available (permanent)
We are recruiting Mental Health Support Workers to join our residential care team in Farnborough, supporting individuals with mental health needs and learning disabilities. This is a hands-on role suited to people who are calm, resilient, and committed to delivering consistent, person-centred care.
Shift pattern
- Day shifts 7.30am to 2.30pm / 2.30pm to 7.30pm / 7.30am to 9.30pm
- Night shifts: 9:30pm to 7:30am
- 42 hours contracted per week
- Alternate weekends required
About the role
You will be supporting adults within a residential care home who have mental health needs, learning disabilities, self harm and behaviours that can be challenging. Support is provided on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, with a strong focus on safety, structure, and continuity of care.
Key duties
- Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to residents
- Supporting individuals with mental health conditions and learning disabilities
- Managing and responding to challenging behaviour
- Using approved restraint techniques when required
- Following care plans, risk assessments, and support strategies
- Completing accurate night records and handovers
- Maintaining a calm, safe, and structured environment
Essential requirements
- Ability to work alternate weekends
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to complete restraint training if not already trained
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable experience
- Experience working in mental health
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- Experience managing challenging behaviour
