SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Complex Needs
We are looking for a caring, patient and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with complex needs. The role will involve working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to help children access learning, develop communication skills and feel safe, supported and included throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to pupils within a mainstream school environment who have a variety of additional needs, including autism, communication and interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behaviours that may challenge.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop independence, regulate their emotions, and achieve positive outcomes. The role involves fostering positive relationships, promoting inclusion, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

Supporting pupils with complex needs in class and during the school day
Helping pupils to access learning through adapted activities and resources
Using communication strategies such as visuals, symbols or simple language
Supporting emotional regulation, routines and transitions
Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Providing personal care where required
Keeping pupils safe and following safeguarding procedures
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEND, although a positive attitude, patience and willingness to learn are just as important. You must be nurturing, consistent and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Pay: £95.00-£105.00 per day
