We are looking for a talented Sous Chef or experienced Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up and join the kitchen team at Aston Hall Hotel in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the newly opened Darcy’s Restaurant and our growing food operation.
Aston Hall Hotel is a well-established 50-bedroom hotel known for its hospitality, events and quality dining. With the recent refurbishment of Byron’s Lounge Bar and the launch of Darcy’s Restaurant, we are continuing to develop our food offering across the restaurant, lounge bar and busy banqueting operation, including large events and weddings.
Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supervise the team and help maintain consistently high standards.
This role would suit a strong Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef looking to take the next step in their career, with experience working across restaurant service, banqueting, large events and weddings.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef with menu planning and food preparation
- Supervise and support the kitchen team during service
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation across all dishes
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Work closely with the front-of-house team during service
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and stock rotation
- Assist with new dish and menu developmentMaintain a clean and organised kitchen
About You
- Previous experience as a Senior CDP or Junior Sous Chef
- Experience working within hotels, restaurants or events, including large events and weddings
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen procedures
- Passionate about fresh, seasonal food
- Reliable, organised and able to lead a team
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and key event dates
