Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves long-distance freight transportation across the UK, primarily focusing on flatbed block grab deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods, maintaining compliance with road safety regulations, and upholding high standards of vehicle care. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 Block Grab vehicles, across national routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Secure loads appropriately on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding delivery progress and any issues encountered
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, tachograph regulations, and company policies
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with relevant driving experience in a commercial setting
- Hiab Block Grab licence
- Proven experience in flatbed transportation and securement of loads
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and route planning skills
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism
- Flexibility to undertake long-distance trips as required
