Night Care Assistant – Agency Staff Wanted (Care Home)
Location: Perranporth, Cornwall
Pay: £14.50 per hour inclusive
Hours: Waking nights – full-time, part-time, and flexible shifts available

Talentra Recruitment is a trusted care agency supplying compassionate, reliable care workers to care homes across Cornwall & Devon. We're currently looking for dedicated Night Care Assistants to join our growing team and provide vital overnight support to residents.
The Role
As a Night Care Assistant, you'll work as part of the overnight team in a care home setting, helping residents feel safe, comfortable, and cared for through the night. You'll work alongside other care staff and report to a senior carer or nurse on shift.
Your night-time duties may include:
- Supporting residents with repositioning and overnight personal care
- Assisting with toileting and continence care
- Administering or prompting overnight medication
- Carrying out regular night checks and responding to call bells
- Settling residents and providing reassurance if unsettled or anxious
- Supporting with early morning routines at the end of shift
- Working as part of a team, including handovers to day staff
- Accurately recording care provided in daily notes, including any incidents overnight
What We're Looking For
- Previous care experience is required. As an agency, we're unable to provide the full induction training a direct care employer would offer, so we ask that applicants have already completed a recognised induction to care (e.g. Care Certificate, NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent) before joining us.
- Experience of night shifts or care home settings is an advantage, but not essential
- A calm, patient, and reassuring nature — able to respond confidently if a resident's needs change overnight
- Good communication skills, including clear handover notes and teamwork with colleagues
- Ability to use initiative and stay alert through the night
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred, not always essential)
- Must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check (we can help guide you through this process)
- Right to work in the UK (proof will be required at application stage)
