We are looking for an assistant to join our Central Inception Team.
The role
The Central Inception Team (CIT) supports the firm in meeting regulatory obligations by managing client and matter inception, including file opening and closing. As a central point of contact, the team provides guidance, training, and practical support, while liaising with clients where needed to obtain information and ensure compliance throughout the process.
The person
Essential Criteria
A-Level educated (or equivalent)
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong analytical, organisational, and prioritisation abilities
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High attention to detail with a methodical approach
Proactive problem-solver with a practical, common-sense mindset
Team player, adaptable, and keen to learn
Desirable
Degree educated (or equivalent)
Relevant anti-money laundering (AML) qualification
Research experience
Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
Knowledge of AML procedures and conflict checks
The activities
Key Responsibilities
Manage client and matter inception, including file opening and closing
Conduct AML/KYC, sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks
Assess client risk and escalate issues where required
Perform conflict checks in line with firm policies
Support compliance and maintain accurate audit trails
Carry out research to verify client information
Maintain accurate client and matter records
Provide guidance, training, and support to lawyers and colleagues
Monitor and improve process controls to ensure compliance standards are met

Pre employment screening
