Position: HGV Driver LBS-004 (Project)

Pay Rate: PAYE: £18.55 per hour
Job Responsibilities
- Work as part of a four-person crew operating two tanker vehicles
- Drive and operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carry out gully and drainage cleaning works across Southwark's highways
- Assist with the maintenance and clearance of highway drainage systems
- Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safe working practices at all times
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed timescales and service requirements
- Work effectively with team members to deliver high-quality cleansing services
- Carry out vehicle checks and report any issues or defects promptly
- Support additional operational duties as required by the service
Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid HGV driving licence
- Experience driving HGV vehicles in a professional environment
- Ability to work as part of a team in an outdoor operational role
- Understanding of health and safety requirements when operating heavy vehicles
Skills and Abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely
- Reliable and able to work flexible operational schedules
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and undertake physical duties
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Previous experience in highways, waste, cleansing or drainage operations
- Experience operating tanker vehicles or similar specialist vehicles
- Knowledge of Southwark's highway network
Additional Instructions
- This role is temporary for an initial 6-week period due to increased workload
- The successful candidate will work within the Environment, Sustainability and Leisure service area
- The role requires working outdoors and may involve physically demanding duties
- Applicants must meet all relevant driving and safety requirements before starting the assignment
