About the role
We are looking for a Traffic Administrator / Customer Service person to join our small but busy transport office.
This is a varied role where you’ll be at the heart of the day-to-day operation, helping to keep our customers happy and our drivers on the road. You’ll need to be organised, confident on the phone and able to stay calm and professional when things get busy!

What you'll be doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Supporting our drivers throughout their working day with any issues or queries
- Checking and providing delivery ETAs to customers
- Liaising with customers regarding deliveries and collections
- Updating customers when there are delays or changes to delivery schedules
- Communicating with drivers and helping to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Monitoring deliveries and keeping track of the day's transport operation
- Updating transport systems and completing general administration including entering proof of deliveries.
- Liaising with other members of the transport team to ensure everything runs smoothly
- Dealing with unexpected problems and finding practical solutions
- Providing excellent customer service at all times
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- Confident and friendly when speaking to customers and drivers
- Organised and able to manage several things at once
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- A good communicator, both on the phone and by email
- Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet
- Reliable, punctual and willing to get stuck in
- IT literate and comfortable using computer systems
- A team player who enjoys working as part of a small, close-knit office team
Previous experience in transport, logistics, traffic administration, customer service or a similar environment would be an advantage, but we're also happy to consider someone with the right attitude and transferable skills.
Why join us?
You'll be joining a friendly team in a busy transport operation where your work genuinely makes a difference. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being busy, solving problems and dealing with people, rather than sitting behind a desk doing the same thing every day.
If you're organised, approachable, good on the phone and enjoy a challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
