Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sander to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for finishing by sanding wood and other materials to achieve a smooth and polished appearance. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. A background in carpentry or related fields is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Operate sanding machines and hand tools to smooth surfaces of materials, ensuring high-quality finishes.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for painting or finishing by removing imperfections, dust, and debris.
- Collaborate with team members to build and assemble components as needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance as required.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to sanding and finishing tasks.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively.
- Experience in painting techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Previous experience as a carpenter or in a similar role is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
