Some people will call us a barbershop.
Others will call us a coffee shop.
Some will see a retail space.
None of those descriptions are wrong.
They’re just incomplete.
We see a place where people come to spend time.
Every haircut, every coffee, every conversation and every recommendation contribute to something bigger than the individual parts. Together they create an experience people enjoy and a place they want to return to.
We’re not looking for someone to simply fill a chair.
We’re looking for someone who wants to belong at Seventh Seal. Someone who takes pride in exceptional barbering, is interested in the wider business and understands that the whole shop is our workplace—not just the space in front of the mirror.
Whether you’re consulting with someone in the chair, talking about a product, recommending a coffee or simply welcoming someone through the door, every interaction shapes our clients’ experience.
About Seventh Seal
Seventh Seal brings together barbering, speciality coffee and carefully curated retail under one roof.
These aren’t separate businesses sharing the same space. They complement one another to create an environment where people genuinely enjoy spending time. Whether someone visits for a haircut, a coffee or simply to browse, they should receive the same warmth, attention to detail and genuine hospitality.
We’re passionate about craftsmanship, but we’re equally passionate about people. Technical skills can be developed; curiosity, humility and a genuine desire to look after others are what allow people to thrive here.
The Role
Your primary role is to deliver exceptional haircuts.
We’re looking for an experienced barber with excellent technical ability, strong consultation skills and a genuine passion for the craft. Someone who values quality over speed and understands that the client experience starts long before the first cut and continues long after the client leaves the chair.
You’ll build lasting relationships with clients, offer honest advice and create styles that suit the individual rather than simply following trends.
Whilst you will spend most of your day behind the chair, you will naturally become involved in the other aspects of the business too. We work as one team, and everyone contributes to creating the welcoming, relaxed environment that makes Seventh Seal what it is.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong scissor cutting skills
- Confident scissor-over-comb technique
- Excellent clipper work
- Experience with tapers and fades
- Great consultation and communication skills
The following would also be an advantage:
- Experience with longer hairstyles
- Wet shaving experience
- Understanding of hair in fashion and culture
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Is passionate about barbering and committed to continually improving.
- Values relationships just as much as technical ability.
- Listens first and advises with confidence.
- Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
- Takes an interest in the wider business, not just the chair.
- Wants to contribute to the culture of the shop as much as the quality of the haircut.
- Takes pride in creating an exceptional experience for everyone who walks through the door.
Six Months From Now…
Your clients trust your advice as much as your technical ability.
They return because you give them a great haircut. But they also return because they have built a trusting relationship with you.
You’re producing consistently excellent work, you’ve grown as a barber, and you’ve become a valued part of the family.
Your chair is where you work, but your presence is felt throughout the whole shop.
Most importantly, you are now part of the fabric of Seventh Seal.
What You’ll Need
- Full-time availability
- Saturday working is essential
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Successful applicants will complete a trade test
