This is an exciting opportunity to join our social care, Care Services Payments team, at Calderdale Council. The Team supports the Adults and Childrens Social Care directorates and is responsible for ensuring that providers of care services are paid correctly and properly. The team’s aim is to develop and improve on the management of provider invoices, working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to ensure payments are made in a timely manner and dealing with any provider invoice queries promptly and professionally.
We are looking to recruit a professional, friendly, and customer-focused Care Payments Officer to join our busy finance team. The care payment officer will process a range of financial transactions relating to provider payments.
The role will work closely with providers, promoting and maintaining a customer-focussed, high-quality service, and ensuring all financial transactions are processed and recorded accurately and in line with adult’s and children’s contracts. It is important that you can work well with others and communicate effectively with a wide range of people. In addition, you will need to possess initiative, the ability to work to deadlines and to maintain a high level of attention to detail given the duties involved.
If you have experience of working within a finance/ payments team, we would welcome your application. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Be able to communicate confidently and effectively with a range of media including telephone, emails, letters and individual meetings.
- Ability to take individual responsibility for driving outcomes.
- Financial acumen and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with account payable systems and the payment of invoices.
- Collaborative working abilities.
