As an Admin Assistant, you are required to carry out clerical and other duties to support the Branch you work for as well as to support the company as a whole. Admin Assistants is someone who pays close attention to detail, is well-organised, and enjoy being part of a team.
Part of the role also includes data entry, which requires updating, maintaining, and retrieving information held on the company’s computer system. It also requires transferring information that is on paper to computer files (inputting).
As Admin Assistant you report directly to your Branch or Operations Manager.
Core Duties
Your duties may vary but typically you will:
- Prepare and sort documents/data sheets for the purpose of data entry.
- Establish entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first.
- Ensure the data recorded is entered onto the specific database completely and accurately.
- Verify completed work for accuracy and make any required changes immediately.
- Maintaining adequate records, keeping an up to date filing system.
- Operate a variety of standard office machines, including pc, a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office, phone, fax and photocopying machine.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with customers/suppliers and relevant staff as necessary.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential at all times.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Sending standard emails and reports
- Answer resolve and direct customer and internal calls to relevant department.
- Assisting the team in sales calls and quotation follow ups.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.

Experience and Qualifications
No formal experience or qualifications are needed for this role although a good standard of general education is required and GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths are desirable.
Experience in general office administration is also desirable but not essential as there will be an opportunity to ‘train on the job’ through an apprenticeship.
