On-call that stays manageable
Yes, there is out-of-hours, but it is far from all-consuming. The rota is 1 in 11 weeks, which is a very different prospect from the more punishing patterns many vets are used to. More experienced vets should be comfortable with sole charge on-call, while less experienced colleagues are supported through a clear structure.
A location that gives you options
Based in Lanarkshire, this role offers access to the lower Clyde Valley, with waterfalls, lochs and woodland nearby, while Glasgow is around 40 minutes away by car. It is a setting that suits both outdoor types and those who want city access without living in the middle of it.
Your Journey Here
In your first month, you will get to know the team, settle into the practice systems, and start building confidence with the caseload and clinical rhythms. If you are earlier in your career, the support around you will be clear from day one.
In your first 3 months, you will be managing consults and cases more confidently, making full use of the nursing team, and getting a better sense of where your own interests could develop within the practice.
In your first 6 months, you will be an established part of the team, contributing to clinical discussions, handling a varied caseload with confidence, and exploring longer-term development through CPD or further qualifications if that is where you want to go.
