Operations Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Central London (on-site)
Job type: Part-time, permanent
Hours: 20–30 hours per week. Flexible shifts agreed in advance, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening livestream support.
Start date: ASAP
About the role
We are a Central London based cross-border e-commerce and livestream retail business. We source products, manage stock in the UK, and ship orders between China and the UK.
We are hiring a part-time Operations Assistant to support our day-to-day operations: buying stock, checking it in, keeping inventory accurate, arranging deliveries, and helping our livestream sessions run smoothly. It is a hands-on, on-site role, well suited to someone who is organised, reliable and happy to move between different tasks during the day.
What you will be doing
Stock and purchasing
· Place and follow up on product orders with suppliers
· Receive deliveries, check items against orders, sort and label stock
· Keep inventory records accurate and up to date
· Make sure stock moves smoothly from purchase to storage to dispatch
Logistics and orders
· Book and coordinate UK deliveries and shipments between China and the UK
· Get quotes from couriers and freight partners, and keep in touch with them
· Track shipments and update the team on delivery dates
· Prepare and hand over parcels for dispatch
· Chase up delays, missing items and damaged goods until they are resolved
Day-to-day coordination
· Prepare products and paperwork for livestream sessions and support the host on the day
· Keep purchasing, stock, shipping and livestream schedules joined up
· Stay in regular contact with suppliers, couriers, hosts and colleagues
· Deal with day-to-day problems and one-off tasks as they come up
What we are looking for
Essential
· The right to work in the UK (we are not able to offer visa sponsorship)
· Available to work on-site in Central London
· Well organised, with good attention to detail when handling stock and orders
· A confident communicator who is comfortable dealing with suppliers and couriers
· Able to work independently, follow tasks through and meet deadlines
· Comfortable lifting and moving boxes and parcels as part of the role
· Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese
· Chinese language is a must
Desirable
· Experience in e-commerce, retail, warehouse, logistics or livestream sales
· Confident using Excel or Google Sheets
· Mandarin language skills, as we work with China-based suppliers on a daily basis
· Full training is given, so we are also happy to hear from candidates with less experience but the right attitude
What we offer
· Flexible part-time hours that can fit around study or other commitments
· Hands-on experience across every part of a growing cross-border e-commerce business
· A small, supportive team where you can take on more responsibility over time
