Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our growing team in Ilford on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods, materials, and services to support the business. You'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager and play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase goods, materials, components, and services to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure a continuous supply of materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, quantities, and commercial terms.
- Research new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and tenders.
- Support the Production Manager by researching new markets, products, and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor supplier performance and gather supplier feedback.
- Analyse purchasing data and market trends to support forecasting and business decisions.
- Ensure purchased products meet required quality standards.
- Work closely with the Inventory and Production teams to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled and resolve any delivery issues.
- Prepare reports and provide updates as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, increase efficiency, and add value to the business.
About You:
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar buying or purchasing role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Good analytical and numerical ability.
- Experience with purchasing and inventory management systems.
- Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, team-focused attitude.
- Industry knowledge or experience within a relevant sector is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
