We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Garden Centre Shop Manager to lead our vibrant garden retail team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales, optimise merchandising displays, and foster a welcoming environment for garden enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike. The ideal candidate is energetic, organised, and possesses a strong background in retail management with excellent communication skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the success of our garden centre while inspiring your team to deliver outstanding service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and merchandising displays.
- Supervise staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing team.
- Oversee product merchandising, ensuring attractive displays that highlight seasonal items and promotions.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and customers, addressing inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Implement sales strategies to increase revenue and customer engagement through upselling and cross-selling techniques.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and administrative policies while maintaining a clean and organised store environment.Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or garden centre environments with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop team members.
- Demonstrated proficiency in merchandising, sales management, and inventory control.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Previous administrative experience including record keeping, reporting, and phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of retail management systems and organizational tools is preferred.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
