The Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Operative to join our busy Production team in Ramsgate. This is a crucial hands-on role for an individual who is proficient in workshop practices, committed to quality, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of production, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and precision in our architectural finishes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Skilled Workshop Operations: Execute precise workshop tasks including material preparation, assembly, and quality control of products according to specifications and production schedules.
- CNC Machinery Operation: Operate and monitor CNC machinery for precise cutting, shaping, and engraving of materials.
- Hand Tools Finishing: Perform meticulous hand tools finishing to achieve the high aesthetic and quality standards required for architectural finishes.
- Material Management: Efficiently handle, move, load, and unload materials and finished goods, optimizing storage and workflow within the workshop.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular checks to ensure materials and products meet IMI Ltd's high-quality standards and resolve minor issues as they arise, particularly in CNC output and hand-finished items.
- Process Adherence & Improvement: Follow established production processes and actively contribute ideas for continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations. Perform routine checks on machinery and tools.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production targets and support overall business objectives.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of demonstrable experience as a Workshop Operative or similar hands-on role in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within architectural finishes or a related precision industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding and practical experience with CNC machinery operation and a wide range of hand tools for finishing.
- Quality & Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work and intricate finishes.
- Reliability & Proactivity: A dependable and self-motivated individual who can manage their workload effectively and take initiative.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
- Physical Dexterity: Capable of performing manual tasks, handling materials, and operating machinery in a busy workshop setting.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
