LOCATION: BH2 Leisure Centre, Bournemouth
SHIFT PATTERN: 2 on 4 off, 21 hours per week
PAY RATE: £14.51 per hour
Overview of Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen at the Legal & General owned Bh2 Leisure Centre in Bournemouth, for a Security Officer to join our team working for ABM on a one-year fixed term contract, with the option to roll on a further year. This contract includes days, late evenings, nights and some weekends. Opportunity for overtime and holiday cover.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
- Provide a security contact for customers and staff.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Deter anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
- Liaise with the Police and management when required.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
- Deal with any difficult situations that arise in a safe and professional manner.
- Always appear polished and professional and always adhere to the Bh2 centre/ABM uniform and grooming guidelines.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- SG or DS licence essential. CCTV required; training can be provided.
- A full five-year checkable employment/ education history.
- Experience in corporate/ retail security is desirable.
- Experience in customer service is desirable.
- Good organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
- Computer skills to include basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate required; training can be
- Well presented, and high grooming standards.
- Outgoing and friendly with a can-do attitude.
- Reference ID: 21 Hour Contract, you will work 10.5 hour shifts.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
