Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant (Nights) to provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting. This role involves delivering personalised care during overnight shifts, ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Previous experience in home care or care homes is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Providing personalised care to residents during night shifts, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, and medication administration according to care plans
- Monitoring residents’ health and well-being throughout the night and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Supporting residents with their emotional and social needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable
- Assisting with night-time routines such as repositioning or helping residents settle for sleep
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with organisational policies
- Ensuring the safety and security of the care environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care delivery
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good standard of English language skills for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and team members
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring travel between locations or supporting residents outside the care home setting
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety
