FIFTH Movement is a values-led physical education, sport and Swim:Ed provider working in partnership with primary schools across Greater Manchester. Our purpose is simple but powerful: to improve the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of children through high-quality movement experiences.
We believe PE and school sport should do more than tick boxes. It should build confidence, resilience, life skills and a lifelong love of being active. Everything we do is underpinned by strong relationships with schools, high standards of delivery, and a genuine care for the children and communities we serve.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Swimming Teacher to join FIFTH Movement. This role is ideal for someone who has a love for swimming, child development and delivering consistently high-quality lessons within a school setting.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering progressive swimming lessons to primary-aged children, helping them to build confidence in the water, develop core swimming skills and understand essential water safety.
This is a delivery-focused role, but also one where professionalism, communication and care really matter. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow within an organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality swimming lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and school expectations.
- Adapt sessions to meet the needs of children with varying abilities, ensuring all pupils feel supported, challenged and included.
- Develop children’s confidence, competence and enjoyment in the water through consistent encouragement and clear progression.
- Teach water safety in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
- Maintain high safety standards at all times, including setting up equipment, completing risk assessments and following pool operating procedures.
- Provide clear feedback to pupils, school staff and the FIFTH Movement team on progress and outcomes.
- Complete required registers, assessments and session records accurately and on time.
- Identify and remove barriers to participation wherever possible.
- Act as a brand ambassador for FIFTH Movement, representing our values and standards in every school.
Who We’re Looking For
You will:
- Strive for high standards and take pride in delivering excellent sessions, every time.
- Be passionate about helping children develop both physically and personally.
- Communicate confidently and professionally with children, school staff and colleagues.
- Be organised, reliable and proactive.
- Take ownership of your role and responsibilities.
- Be a team player who contributes positively to our culture.
- Be reflective and open to feedback, always looking to improve.

- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Confident using basic IT systems for registers, reports and communication.
If you are ambitious, values-driven and want to work somewhere that recognises and supports great teachers, we would love to hear from you.
