You will be responsible for all grounds maintenance and facility activities for various different sites. Many of these are designated as protected areas or sites of special scientific importance. As a result, you'll have a lot of variety with different issues to solve.
Prior experience with grounds maintenance machinery would be advantageous, although thorough understanding of the various tools is not required. Knowledge of ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, branch cutters, or bank-commanders would be advantageous. We will give training and development targeted to your needs whether you are an experienced grounds maintenance operative or at an earlier stage in your career.

You will have access to a work van as well as all necessary tools. All you'll need is a valid driver's licence. The hour per week are 37. Monday-Wednesday 07:00-16:00, Thursday 07:00-15:00, and Friday 07:00-14:00 are usual working hours. You are willing to work outside in all seasons and weather conditions.

Main responsibilities:
To undertake Grounds and Facility maintenance related activity on a diverse range of company Operational Sites, land and property.
The nature of the work includes, but is not limited to, mowing large, grassed areas including storage reservoir embankments, strimming, blowing off, edge cutting, weeding, hedge cutting minor tree work, fencing, gulley emptying, litter picking, gutter clearing, evasive/reportable weed control and snow clearing.
To ensure all cutting schedules are completed within defined timescales.
To ensure all machinery is operated/used in accordance with the manufacturers operating instructions.
To ensure all machinery and equipment is kept in a serviceable condition with all relevant check sheets completed in a timely manner and fit for inspections and auditing purposes.
To ensure all tasks are undertaken with due consideration to related Health & Safety Regulations, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Company Policy and Procedures.
To ensure all tasks are undertaken with due consideration for the Environment.
To ensure all tasks are undertaken with due care and consideration for adjoining land/property owners and members of the public.
Basic facility maintenance work includes, but is not limited to, decoration, temporary security repairs, emergency cover repairs and any other work deemed to be covered by the operative’s skill set and training levels.
You'll need:

The post holder is required to be self-motivated, committed and organised with excellent knowledge and use of grounds maintenance machinery, ride on mowers, bank mowers, strimmers, chippers and all associated equipment.
Must have Basic D.I.Y Knowledge.
A valid driving licence is essential as is experience of towing a plant trailer.
Fencing experience and Chainsaw certification is desirable.

Compensation package:
£25,00.00 to £30,330 p.a. dependant on experience
