Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship across a range of projects. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, or filling imperfections before painting.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure colour matching and finish consistency according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during preparation and application processes.
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as fitting skirting boards or door frames when required.
- Carry out minor repairs on surfaces prior to painting to ensure smooth finishes.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople such as roofers, masons, or electricians as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area during and after completion of tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting or related trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding or electrical work is desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in surface preparation and finishing.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques relevant to surface treatment or repair work.
- Ability to recognise different types of surfaces and select appropriate paints or finishes accordingly.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality results.
- Good understanding of safety procedures related to working at heights or around hazardous materials.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately whilst working independently when required.
