We are currently seeking a Customs Clearance Administrator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, reliable and motivated individual looking to develop a career within customs and the transport industry.
The Role
As a Customs Clearance Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing customs declarations accurately and within required timescales.
- Liaising professionally with customers, vendors and relevant Government bodies by telephone and email.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Providing general administrative and supportive assistance to the wider team.
- Completing relevant training and examinations as required.
- Carrying out other ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the department.
The Person
We are looking for someone who:
- Has GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Has previous office or administrative experience.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office packages.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Is highly organised and has strong attention to detail.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Is adaptable, proactive and able to use their own initiative.
- Is willing to learn and undertake relevant training and examinations.
- Is flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.
Previous customs experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Knowledge or experience of the transport industry would also be an advantage.
