Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre is one of the UK’s largest purpose-built, multidisciplinary referral hospitals, located in Longbridge, Birmingham. As a Referral Veterinary Radiographer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging across multiple modalities, supporting complex referral cases within a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
You’ll work closely with clinicians and nursing teams to ensure patients are prepared, imaged, and cared for to the highest standards, while contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the imaging service.
- Performing high-quality diagnostic imaging across CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, radiography, and ultrasound
- Supporting the safe preparation and positioning of patients for imaging procedures
- Working collaboratively with clinicians and nurses to optimise case workflow and patient care
- Maintaining imaging equipment and suites to the highest standard
- Carrying out routine quality assurance checks and ensuring compliance with protocols
- Contributing to a positive, team-focused culture within the imaging department
We’re looking for a qualified radiographer with a passion for diagnostic imaging and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care within a referral setting. You’ll bring:
- HCPC registration with a DCR or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography
- Ideally experience within veterinary imaging (though not essential)
- Membership of the Society of Radiographers (desirable)
- A strong commitment to clinical excellence, professionalism, and ethical standards
- A patient-focused approach with high regard for animal welfare
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
The role is currently offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial 6-month period and is expected to be part-time, working 2–3 days per week. There may, however, be the opportunity for the position to develop into a permanent role for the right candidate, depending on service demand and caseload growth within the hospital.
