Job Summary
Are you a reliable, self motivated individual who loves great food, quality coffee and independent work? Cathedral View Cafe is a busy, independent cafe located right opposite Ripon Cathedral. We are looking for a dedicated All rounder to join our small team!
Because our cafe has an upstairs seating area this role requires someone who thrives on variety, is physically active and is completely comfortable working independently to manage the floor.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Prepare and serve a range of food items, including snacks, light meals, and baked goods
- Craft high-quality coffee and beverages as per customer orders, maintaining barista standards
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while ensuring proper presentation and quality control
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times
- Manage cash register operations, handle transactions accurately, and provide correct change
- Assist with stock replenishment, inventory checks, and restocking supplies as needed
- Support team members during busy periods by multitasking across roles seamlessly
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing food service role is highly desirable but full training can be given to the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management is desirable
- Strong serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and cashing up
- Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Flexibility to work across different roles within the cafe environment as needed. Must be flexible.
