Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and presentation are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Help with portioning, garnishing, and plating of dishes for service
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in supervising junior kitchen staff when required, fostering teamwork and efficiency
- Contribute to the development of new menu items under supervision
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service will be highly valued
- Supervising experience or team management skills are considered a plus but are not mandatory
- A genuine interest in culinary arts, hospitality, and customer service is essential
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions accurately
