You know the worst part of being a service advisor? It's not the customers. It's apologising for a workshop that let you down — the callback that never happened, the job that overran, the work you were told to sell that you didn't believe in. You take the flak for all of it.
Not here.
The bit you'll read twice
£42,500 a year. Not "OTE". Not commission hoops. Your number is your number — with regular pay reviews that actually happen.
Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:30. No weekends. None. Ever.
31 days' holiday including all of Christmas and New Year off.
A workshop you can stand behind. Our techs do the job right, document it properly, and if a car doesn't need the work — we don't sell it. You'll never be asked to flannel a customer. That's not a perk, it's the whole point of Fitch.
The job
You're the engine of the front of house — an award-winning independent working on JLR, VW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes. Your week:
- Turn enquiries into bookings — quote sharp, schedule smart
- Run the diary: assign cars to the right techs, keep the workflow and courtesy cars moving
- Convert the work our techs find and evidence — sold on proof, not pressure
- Keep customers informed so nobody's ever chasing us
- Bring lapsed customers back in
- Keep records tight on our management system, and own your numbers — bookings, conversions, satisfaction
You'll report to Neil (one of the owners) and work hand in hand with our Front-of-House Manager. No head office, no layers — decisions get made by people ten feet away.
The stuff that makes the day better
Free Food Fridays. Badminton matches at lunch. A pull-up bar that's started more competitions (and arguments) than it's fixed postures. Free ice creams when it's roasting. Staff socials worth turning up to.
About you
- 3+ years as a service advisor, aftersales advisor or similar customer-facing automotive role
- You can sell — but by explaining and evidencing, not pressuring
- Organised enough to run a busy diary without dropping plates
- Full UK driving licence
- Calm under pressure — when a job overruns and the customer's fuming, you're the steady one
What matters most: attitude. We're a close-knit, family-run team of 15 and the front of house sets the tone for all of it. We want the advisor who keeps their head, keeps their word, and keeps the workshop and the customer on the same side — not someone who over-promises and lets the techs take the fall.
Think you're right for it but the CV doesn't quite show it? Email Neil directly at [email protected] and make your case — persuading us is rather the point of the job.
Still reading? Good — that's the attitude we want. Hit apply, or ring 01543 452630 for a confidential chat. We move fast for the right person.
