As Technical Sales Engineer, you'll know the difference between taking an order and winning a customer.
One lasts a day.
The other lasts years.
That's exactly what this Technical Sales Engineer role is about.
You'll be covering Yorkshire, building relationships with engineering businesses that manufacture components every day.
Not by dropping off catalogues.
Not by chasing the cheapest price.
By understanding how they manufacture, asking the right questions and helping them find a better way.
Sometimes that's cutting tools.
Sometimes it's workholding or toolholding.
Sometimes it's simply spotting an opportunity that nobody else has seen.
If you've sold into manufacturing before, you'll know those conversations aren't won with a brochure.
They're won because customers trust you.
Nobody's expecting you to keep a patch warm.
They want you to build one. If you're happiest looking after the same accounts year after year, this probably isn't the role for you.
But if you're the sort of Technical Sales Engineer who enjoys opening new doors, earning trust and seeing that first order finally come through after months of hard work, you'll fit in well here. You'll never be expected to have every answer.
That's what the Applications Engineers are there for. Your job is to build the relationship .Theirs is to help solve the really technical challenges.
Together, it's a pretty powerful combination. It also means you're not walking into customer meetings with just a catalogue under your arm. You're walking in with the backing of an engineering team that knows manufacturing inside out.
You're also joining a business that's growing. There are already three Technical Sales Engineers in the team. This role makes four. Not because someone has left. Because there's more business to go after.
The commission reflects that too.
The average bonus this year is around £12,000.
A couple of the team are earning more than £20,000.
Not because they inherited the best customers. Because they went out and won them.
You'll probably recognise yourself here.
You've sold into manufacturing before. You enjoy opening doors. You can hold your own with Production Managers, Manufacturing Engineers and Buyers because you understand their world.
And when you tell a customer you'll do something, you do it.
In return you'll receive:
- £50,000-£55,000 basic salary
- Company car
- Uncapped bonus
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off
- Pension matched up to 10%
- Private medical
- Life assurance
- Employee discounts across shopping, travel and more
If you're looking for a Technical Sales Engineer role where you'll have the freedom to grow your own territory, the support of a genuine engineering team and a bonus that genuinely rewards the effort you put in, I'd love to tell you more.
