Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and hardworking Class 1 tramper drivers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations across the UK. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate diverse road conditions. New drivers accepted, driving assessment will be required for all candidates prior to start. Saturday interviews and assessments can be arranged. Start on Mondays return on Fridays, no weekend work.
We run a fleet of mainly DAF XF trucks.
Our planners and coordinators are previous/current HGV drivers too.
Pay is £14.50 an hour plus £30 per night out.
Full Paid Breaks.
Duties
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods on curtain trailers.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements related to commercial driving.
Skills
- Proven experience as a HGV driver or in a similar role, particularly preferred.
- Valid commercial driving licence (CPC) with a good driving record.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with using GPS systems.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
