JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of PAUL THOMAS at our HQ in Battersea, London. This role is responsible for ensuring all departments run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining the exceptional standards our clients expect.
The Operations Manager will lead staff management, logistics planning and studio performance.
DUTIES
Operational Ownership
- Own the day-to-day operational management
- Ensure teams are resourced, organised, and supported to deliver consistent high standards
- Act as a central point of contact for day-to-day operational issues
Studio & Warehouse Oversight
- Oversee the studio and warehouse environment to ensure it is tidy, organised, and fit for purpose and visiting clients
- Work and manage the teams to maintain clear systems for storage, cleanliness, and safe working practices
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are upheld
Logistics Planning & Scheduling
- Manage the weekly schedules across teams, staffing, and resources
- Coordinate logistics planning with department managers to ensure smooth execution
- Organise contingency planning for busy periods and seasonal projects
People & Team Support
- Manage staff coordination, rotas, holiday and sickness cover
- Manage onboarding, and freelance coordination
- Support the General Manager in managing performance, targets, and day-to-day people issues
Financial & Operational Support
- Support the General Manager with payroll processes, overtime tracking, and cost control
- Monitor operational spend and flag risks or inefficiencies
- Troubleshoot invoice queries when escalated – using Xero
General Operations & Compliance
- Manage supplier liaison, insurance coordination, and facilities management
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and operational standards
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations, coordination, or management roles
- Experience within a luxury florist is ideal but not necessary
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident managing people and priorities
- Solutions-focused and proactive
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience in luxury services
- Experience with financial systems (e.g. Xero)
- Full UK driving licence

The role is a standard 42.5 hour working week, with additional week and weekend hours when required. Fully studio based.

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
