About the Role
At Swarkestone Nursery and Garden Centre we are looking for a motivated and creative Marketing Assistant to support our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants to gain hands-on experience across different aspects of marketing, communications, and office support. You will assist with social media management, content creation, marketing campaigns, event support, and graphic design, while also helping with light administrative tasks within the office.
The role is part-time covering 16 hours per week, but there is the opportunity to increase this around events. You'll be required to work 50% of weekend days.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Content
- Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content for social media platforms
- Support the website updates and inter-platform maintenance
- Help maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels
- Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments/messages where appropriate
- Assist with basic marketing reporting and analytics
Events & Campaigns
- Support the planning and promotion of events (Easter Egg Hunt, Pumpkin Patch, Grotto), campaigns, and initiatives
- Assist with event preparation, logistics, and on-the-day coordination when required
Skills & Experience
- Interest in marketing, communications, or digital media
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Comfortable using social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube)
- Basic design or content creation skills (Adobe, or similar tools beneficial)
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to learn
