Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate person to oversee the daily operations in our magical baby room here at Ivy House Thames Ditton. This role is crucial in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a genuine love for working with children. We are luck enough to have a huge outdoor Forest School space at the setting too, with a chicken coop and lots of equipment which the children love.
We are a full time setting, Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 6.30pm and are open 51 weeks of the year.
Duties
- Lead and manage a small team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Develop and implement engaging educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery procedures.
- Mentor and support staff in their professional development, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of children's activities, assessments, and attendance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills to guide a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for working with children, alongside the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
- A minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification
