An opportunity has become available for a enthusiastic, self-motivated persons to join the Catering Facilities Services department at Velindre Cancer Centre to delivery front line services to patients, staff and visitors.
The role of the cook will be to take responsibility for the storage, preparation and cooking of all food for service to Staff, Patients and visitors in our café and restaurant within the current Velindre Cancer Centre and the forth coming New Velindre Cancer Centre ,
The successful Candidates will be expected to undertake all the main tasks In line with the Job description working within the values and behaviours of Velindre University Trust.
Velindre Cancer Centre has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients in Wales for over 60 years. It is the largest Cancer Centre in Wales, serving the 1.5 million population in the South East region through our primary location in the vibrant Welsh Capital.

Main duties of the job
The role of the Cook will take responsibility for the storage, preparation and cooking of all food within the Cancer Centre Café and Restaurant in line with all food safety legislation and regulations.
Providing support and mentoring of the facilities assistants in the catering department ensuring all training requirements are completed and all staff are working with in the values and behaviours of the Trust , ensuring the health and safety of themselves and the other members of the team at all times,
Taking full responsibility to ensure that all HACCP documentation is completed correctly at all times and implementing actions during times of noncompliance and brining this to the attention of the supervisor or senior supervisor,
The successful Candidates will be expected to undertake all the main tasks In line with the Job description working within the values and behaviours of Velindre University Trust.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
