Site Manager - Bolton
- Salary: Grade 5 – SCP 11–17 (£28,142 – £31,022 per year)
- Reporting to: HR Manager
- All year round (5 weeks holidays plus Bank Holidays)
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 6.30a.m. - 3.00p.m., and Friday 6.30a.m. - 11.30a.m.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Site Manager to ensure our school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.
You will take day-to-day responsibility for the school's premises, managing site maintenance, health and safety, security, contractors, cleaning staff and caretaking services. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the school buildings and grounds to a high standard.
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks.
- Ensure the site is safe, secure and compliant with health and safety legislation.
- Open and secure the school each day, acting as a key holder.
- Monitor and manage contractors working on site.
- Supervise and support the cleaning team and SMSAs.
- Maintain heating, lighting, electrical systems and basic building services.
- Carry out regular health and safety checks, including fire safety, Legionella and PAT testing.
- Manage stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including litter picking, grounds maintenance and winter gritting.
- Prepare rooms for meetings, assemblies and school events.
- Keep accurate maintenance, compliance and safety records.
- Respond to emergencies and report issues promptly.

Training
The successful candidate will receive relevant training, including health and safety and basic first aid where required, and will be expected to undertake ongoing professional development.
