Welsh Games is looking for confident, friendly and reliable part-time team members to help run our outdoor group activity days near Newport / Cwmbran.
We host stag groups, hen groups, birthday groups and corporate teams, so this is not your average weekend job. You’ll be outdoors, working with a fun team, leading ridiculous Welsh-themed games, keeping groups entertained and helping people have a brilliant day.
If you’re great with people, happy to get stuck in and don’t fancy spending your Saturdays behind a till, this could be a perfect fit.
The Role
Job title: Saturday Activity Host / Event Crew — must be 18+
Location: Welsh Games, near Newport / Cwmbran
Hours: Saturdays, usually 09:00–17:00
Season: Mainly March to October
Commitment: Ideally 2–4 Saturdays per month
Pay: £10.85–£12.71 per hour depending on age/experience
Job type: Part-time / casual / seasonal
Training: Full training provided
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll help our customers have a brilliant day from start to finish.
This includes:
- welcoming groups when they arrive
- giving clear safety briefings
- explaining the rules for each game
- keeping the energy up and making the day fun
- making sure safety kit is worn properly
- helping groups move around the site
- taking group photos
- setting up and packing away equipment
- working with the rest of the team to keep the day running smoothly
There is some physical work involved, so you’ll need to be happy lifting, carrying and working outdoors.
You’ll be great for this role if you are:
- confident, friendly and good with people
- reliable and available on Saturdays
- comfortable speaking in front of groups
- able to bring energy and personality to the day
- happy working outdoors in all weather
- sensible around health and safety
- able to challenge poor behaviour when needed
- a team player who is also happy using your own initiative
- able to travel reliably to our activity site near Newport / Cwmbran
Experience in hospitality, events, sport, coaching, drama, customer service, festivals, activity centres or group entertainment would be useful, but it is not essential.
The main thing we’re looking for is the right attitude.
What you’ll get from it:
- fun Saturday work
- paid training
- outdoor work instead of being stuck inside
- a friendly team
- staff socials and post-event pub trips
- useful experience in events, customer service and group leadership
- confidence-building experience leading groups
- casual dress
- on-site parking
