Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Warehouse Operative/Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, including stock handling, order picking and packing, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving. Additionally, you will operate company vehicles to transport goods safely between locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to materials handling.
Duties
- Safely load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Operate company vehicles to deliver and collect materials in accordance with schedules and safety regulations
- Manage stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and inventory updates within the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stock replenishment to ensure optimal warehouse operation
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance when needed
- Handle shipping and receiving documentation accurately, including AS400 system entries for order processing
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all warehouse activities to prevent accidents or injuries
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in materials handling and stock management
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; experience driving commercial vehicles is preferred
- Certification or experience operating forklifts is highly desirable although training will be provided
- Ability to lift loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
