Job Overview
Watermoor House is an independent residential care home and registered charity providing residential, dementia and respite care for up to 39 residents.
We are seeking an experienced individual to lead the Home’s business and operational functions. This includes finance, people management, governance, marketing, business development, systems and premises.
Working closely with the Home Manager and reporting to a designated Trustee, you will help ensure that Watermoor House remains financially sustainable, well managed and able to provide safe, high-quality care. This is a broad, hands-on role combining strategic planning and senior management responsibilities with day-to-day operational delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring and management reporting.
- Produce clear performance reports and dashboards for managers and Trustees.
- Oversee payroll and support audit, financial controls and year-end processes.
- Provide line management and support to relevant administrative and operational staff.
- Support effective people management, including recruitment, employment policies and employee relations matters.
- Lead business development, marketing and communications to support occupancy and raise the Home’s community profile.
- Manage contracts, procurement, suppliers and key business relationships.
- Support governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and service improvement.
- Oversee resident contracts and related financial and administrative processes.
- Oversee IT systems, data protection, business continuity, health and safety, fire safety, facilities and maintenance.
- Review systems and processes and lead practical improvements across the organisation.
About you
You will have:
- Significant experience in business, operations or general management.
- Strong financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll and management reporting.
- Practical people-management and employee-relations experience.
- Experience of business development, marketing or commercial activity.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and written communication skills.
- The confidence to advise senior managers and Trustees and constructively challenge where necessary.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and work on your own initiative.
- A collaborative and approachable working style, together with a clear understanding of confidentiality.
- A genuine interest in working within a care environment.
Experience within social care, a charity or another regulated setting would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience of working with a Board of Trustees would also be beneficial.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
