We are a friendly, independently owned 22-bedroom hotel in the heart of Cumbria, welcoming guests from all over the world. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional hospitality, and our traditional Cumbrian breakfast is one of the highlights of every guest's stay. We're looking for an experienced Breakfast Cook who shares our passion for quality food, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.
The Role
As our Breakfast Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality breakfasts each weekday morning, ensuring every plate leaves the kitchen to our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a full range of breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and served promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor food stock and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Minimise food waste and ensure correct food storage practices.
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast service while maintaining excellent quality.
- Assist with kitchen cleaning and preparation for the following service.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a breakfast or chef/cook in a hotel, café, restaurant, or similar environment.
- A passion for producing high-quality breakfasts using fresh ingredients.
- A good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management.
- Food Hygiene certification (Level 2 or above preferred).
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations within a commercial kitchen.
- The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A reliable, punctual, and positive attitude.
- Pride in delivering food that leaves a lasting impression on our guests.
