Marketing, Styling & Customer Experience Manager
Shibumi | Gloucestershire | Full-time, 5 days a week | £30,000 - £36,000 depending on experience, plus commission on showroom sales
About Shibumi
Shibumi has been designing distinctive silk and cashmere occasion wear since 2004, natural fabrics have always been at the heart of what we do. We're a small business, which means every customer interaction actually matters, a social post, an email, a phone call, a fitting in the showroom.
Our founder designs every collection, with one other person handling dispatch and orders. We're looking for a third person to take real ownership of marketing and customer experience, so our founder can dedicate more time to design.
The Role
This job has two halves that need to sit comfortably in the same person: running our marketing (strategy, content, email, ads, the website) and being the main point of contact for our customers, both online and in the showroom.
You'll need to be a strong planner. A short weekly catch-up with the founder covers performance and priorities, but within that, it's down to you to structure your own week, knowing when you'll be needed in the showroom, when you'll be handling admin and enquiries, and when you'll carve out time for marketing.
Here's the honest bit, so there are no surprises: some weeks are strategy and content and campaigns. Other weeks, especially when the showroom's busy, it's admin, order queries, and customer emails from start to finish. Occasional complaints come with running any small business, and every customer interaction, easy or difficult, needs the same level of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and deliver our marketing strategy, plan it, run it, adjust it when it's not working
- Style and sell to clients who've booked showroom appointments, earning commission on top of your salary for sales you make
- Create content yourself, ideas through to filming and shooting video and photos, not just directing someone else
- Manage Klaviyo, which is both our email platform and our CRM, no enquiry or lead should be left unlogged or unfollowed-up; you'll analyse conversion, not just send campaigns
- Manage and improve our Shopify website, including product and collection pages
- Edit images with Adobe Suite, good knowledge of photoshop is essential
- Plan and run Facebook Ads campaigns and report on performance
- Write blogs in your own voice (not AI-generated) that support SEO
- Manage on-page SEO ,our agency handles technical SEO separately
- Grow our presence on Etsy and Pinterest
- Organise our presence at trade shows and events, planning logistics and stock, not just attending and selling
- Respond to customer emails and calls personally and warmly, never AI-generated, always a real reply from a real person
- Handle order, delivery, and return queries, and occasional complaints, calmly and professionally
- Keep the showroom and our digital files properly organised, comfortable on a Mac, tidy digital filing included
- Use AI tools to support research, planning, and admin efficiency
What We're Looking For
- A genuine eye for style, dressing a styling customers
- Confidence creating content yourself, from idea through to filming
- Marketing strategy experience, you'll own the "why" as well as the "how," not just execute a brief
- Excellent organisation and forward planning, you'll need to structure your own time across a genuinely varied workload
- Exceptional customer service, including confidence handling occasional complaints calmly and professionally
- A strong work ethic, can-do attitude, and positive demeanour, essential in a small team
- Strong working knowledge of Klaviyo, ideally, plus Shopify, Google Analytics, and Facebook Ads
- Comfortable on a Mac and naturally well organised digitally
- Comfortable working independently with real autonomy, rather than needing frequent direction, is resourceful and has initiative
- Experience in fashion, retail, or another style-led brand is an advantage
What Success Will Look Like
Within the first 3 months : a clear marketing strategy in place, stronger email and retention activity, growth on Social Media, Pinterest, and Etsy, excellent customer service and styling delivered consistently, reliable systems for managing the workload and, most importantly, growth in sales across the business.
This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of marketing and customer experience within a small, established independent brand, where your ideas and instincts will have a direct and visible impact.
