As a Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging and innovative Functional Skills Maths lessons to learners from Entry Level to Level 1, adapting your teaching to meet diverse learning needs and creating an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. You'll play a key role in motivating students, celebrating achievement and helping learners realise their full potential.

Deliver inspiring and high-quality Functional Skills Maths lessons to learners of varying abilities
- Create engaging schemes of work, learning resources and assessments that support learner success
- Use digital technologies and innovative teaching approaches to enhance the learner experience
- Monitor progress, provide timely feedback and support learners to achieve their goals
- Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance, encouragement and pastoral support
- Support examination processes in line with awarding body and JCQ requirements
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance and programme development
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to continuously improve the curriculum and learner outcomes
- Participate in team meetings, curriculum planning and standardisation activities
- Be available to work up to two evenings per week
We're seeking an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about helping learners succeed and who can bring Maths to life in the classroom.
You'll have:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
- A recognised teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or Level 5 teaching qualification)
- Experience of teaching and assessing Functional Skills Maths, ideally within Further Education
- Strong knowledge of assessment practices and quality assurance processes
- The ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences for diverse groups of learners
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in using digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
- Experience of teaching ESOL learners, or the ability to adapt teaching approaches to support learners with English as an additional language

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).

- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
