Are you an experienced catering professional with a passion for delivering high quality food services and leading teams in a fast paced environment?
Chesterfield Royal Hospital is seeking a proactive and customer focused Catering Supervisor to support the day to day delivery of an efficient, safe, and high quality catering service for patients across the hospital. Working closely with the Patient Services Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring excellent service standards, maintaining food safety and hygiene compliance, supporting and motivating team members, and helping to create a positive experience for patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong organisational and leadership skills to make a meaningful contribution within a busy healthcare setting.
What you’ll do:

Supervise and coordinate daily catering operations, ensuring high standards of food production, presentation, and meal service delivery within a healthcare environment.

Lead and support a team of catering staff, including rota management, performance monitoring, coaching, training, and return to work processes.

Ensure all patient meal service trolleys are accurately prepared, stocked and delivered to wards on time, meeting service and dietary requirements.

Build strong working relationships with ward teams and stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication and a high quality patient dining experience.

Monitor food quality, portion control, stock levels, and wastage, supporting efficient service delivery and cost control.

Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation, including temperature checks, quality monitoring, stock takes, cleaning schedules, and food safety audits.

Champion food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards, conducting regular inspections and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.

Identify and resolve operational issues, including customer complaints, equipment defects, staffing challenges, and service improvements, escalating where appropriate.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

Self motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible, reliable, and able to use own initiative
-
Level 3 Food Safety Certificate.

Previous supervisory experience
