Your Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:
- To support the Setting Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting.
- Manage the setting and undertake managerial duties in the absence of the Setting Manager.
- To undertake additional leadership responsibilities, including SENDCo.
- To adhere to and follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
- To supervise relevant staff, volunteers, work experience and student placements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- To contribute to and attend supervisions and staff appraisals that promote a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the setting.
- To plan and run some regular team meetings.
- To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the Managers absence within the setting dealing with and supporting any issues as they arise.
What You’ll Need
Essential:
- Enhanced DBS check
- Previous experience of Nursery/Childcare Management (Required)
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A caring, child-focused approach
