Full time chef role
We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to run the kitchen with another part-time chef.
The food is not so extensive and can quite easily run with one person in the week.
This role would suit an experienced chef/sous chef looking to take on responsibility and help drive the business in a competitive environment.
You will be working directly under the company Head Chef who will be designing menus and putting all paperwork in place so being self motivated and able to work alone in a relaxed environment is as important as being able to manage busier periods and direct the flow of service.
The venue
We are moving our current operation to a new venue in the heart of Hockley.
Predominantly a wine bar with a European/Mediterranean food offering. The emphasis is on fresh produce, evocative of European bars, simple and elegant.
Ideally you will have:
- A minimum of 2-3 year experience in a senior role.
- Display a working knowledge of basic cooking techniques and practices
- Show an understanding of excellent health and hygiene practice
- Be familiar with ordering and stock management
- Be willing to assist in menu creation, costing and development
- Show a keen desire in helping to train and develop junior members of the team.
You would be responsible for:
- Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene (food safety / health & safety / COSHH laws).
- Running the kitchen to an excellent standard, taking pride in attention to detail.
- Training any new staff on current technique and dishes.
- Create a hospitable environment and work closely with the General Manager to ensure the needs of owners/management are adhered to
Circa 40-45 hours, 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday (One lunch service a week on a Saturday)
Flexible prep hours during the day
Competitive salary based on experience, paid monthly.
Share of service charge, paid monthly.
