EYFS Opportunities – Nursery Staff & Senior Room Leads- Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne | Full-Time | Temporary-to-Permanent or Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a fantastic nursery in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, who are looking to appoint four passionate and dedicated Early Years professionals to join their team.
We have opportunities for: 2 x Level 3 EYFS Qualified Nursery Practitioners
We are looking for two Level 3 qualified practitioners who are passionate about providing high-quality care, learning and development for children in the Early Years.
You will support children through engaging, play-based learning experiences, build positive relationships and help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
- Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Supporting children's communication, language, physical, social and emotional development.
- Providing high-quality care and supporting daily routines.
- Completing observations, assessments and contributing to children's next steps.
- Supporting children with SEND and adapting activities to individual needs.
- Working closely with colleagues, parents and carers.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing.
2 x Senior Room Leads
We are also seeking two experienced Senior Room Leads to take responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of their nursery room and provide strong leadership to the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and organising the day-to-day running of the room.
- Supporting and mentoring Nursery Practitioners and other team members.
- Planning and delivering high-quality EYFS provision.
- Monitoring children's development, observations and next steps.
- Supporting children with SEND and working alongside the SENCO and other professionals.
- Maintaining excellent safeguarding, health and safety and welfare standards.
- Building positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Supporting staff development, reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring the room provides a stimulating, inclusive and child-centred environment.
- Acting as a positive role model and maintaining consistently high standards of practice.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Level 3 EYFS qualified for the Nursery Practitioner roles.
- Experienced and confident working within an Early Years setting.
- Passionate about children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Warm, caring, patient and approachable.
- Confident supporting children with different developmental needs.
- Knowledgeable about the EYFS and safeguarding.
- Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
For the Senior Room Lead positions, candidates should additionally have previous experience taking responsibility for a nursery room, leading a team or supporting less experienced practitioners.

Contract Options
We can offer flexibility depending on your circumstances:
Temporary-to-Permanent – start on a temporary basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
Direct Permanent – candidates can also be considered for a permanent position from the outset.
