Renew2U, the UK's leading appliance refurbishment company, is looking for an experienced and highly skilled White Goods Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for processing up to 50,000 large appliances per year, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in the refurbishment and reconditioning of white goods, contributing to our mission of sustainability and excellence.
Rate of pay: £14.50 – £15.80 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Expertise
- Oversee the refurbishment, repair, and servicing of domestic appliances, including fridge freezers, washing machines, dryers, ovens, and dishwashers.
- Diagnose faults and ensure effective repairs are completed to meet operational targets. Critically investigate any returns due to performance or repair quality to identify issues in the repair process and implement a fix.
- Basic multimeter experience, testing electrical insulation and resistance.
2. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with current industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for all appliances processed, including refurbishment details and safety compliance documentation.
- Stay updated with recent certifications and refresher training requirements, ensuring full team compliance.
3. Operational Excellence
- Optimise refurbishment processes to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with management to identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring operational readiness.
4. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with other departments to ensure appliances meet Renew2U's rigorous refurbishment standards before dispatch.
- Provide technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Uphold Renew2U's commitment to sustainability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience as a White Goods Engineer, with a strong background in appliance repair.
- Required certifications, including:
- Electrical safety certification (e.g. PAT Testing, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Recent refresher training certificates to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Gas Safe registration / gas certification (domestic appliances — cookers and hobs).
- Experience in high-volume refurbishment or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and smart appliance technologies.
